Galena Quilt Show
I know that I've been talking about this show for months, and have invited (begged) you all to come and see me. Well...DON'T COME! It has been canceled due to the huge amounts of rain they have gotten - with more in the forecast. Are you kidding me??? We haven't had more than 1/10th of an inch for two months! I am so disappointed - we have really worked hard to get ready for this. But, the good news is - it is rescheduled for August 20th and 21st. I have some scheduling conflicts with that - I'm supposed to be in MN that week - but hopefully we can get things all worked out and I can still go to both places. I will keep you all posted!

BUMMER! I'm sure you're disappointed after all the preparation you've done. Hope things will work out okay with the new date!
ReplyDelete(I love your crazy quilt blocks - is that a new design for you?)
I'm sorry to hear that. Was your show in Eastern Iowa? I heard they had a HUGE downpour over there last night!!

Sorry to hear about it being canceled. I live 15 minutes from Galena, and we all got a huge amount of rain last night. The tornado warnings were all over the area. It is a real mess. Lots of pumps running to empty over flowing basements. (Hubby is a local plumber. ;)) Our rain gauge read 4 1/2 inches, but Galena got 10 3/4 inches in 13 hours. That is a lot of rain! The show has been in all the papers. I feel sorry for all the money spent in advertising. I will have to see if I can make it there in August. :)
ReplyDeleteRats for you!! Sorry to hear it... But when you figure out how to be in two places at once, let me know, will you??? ;o) Good luck....Wish I were closer....Happy tomorrow?! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
ReplyDeleteSorry the show got canceled. It is hard to believe that they have had that much rain. We have hardly had a drop here in ages. Hope it works out for you to go to the show in August.
ReplyDeleteWhat a major let down! How disappointing--I'm sure you have put so much work into getting everything ready. I feel bad for all the people that will miss seeing your cool stuff, too.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh Julie, after all that work - I can't believe it!! I heard that there's been a lot of rain (we've had a ton too), but that is so unfortunate that it's been postponed. Hope that you can make everything work out for the show in August. BUMMER!!
ReplyDeleteThat stinks! I know how much work goes into a show and how you come to count on that cash flow to make a business work. Hope you can make it up soon. Your work is beautiful!
