It's hard to believe that my birthday month (haha) is almost over! My mom brought me lunch on my birthday, and look what else...
I'm always amazed at how many tempting sew-alongs there are in blogland. And also how many people seem to follow several of them and actually FINISH them! Last year, I watched from the sidelines while tons of people followed along with Lori, from Humble Quilts blog, making a cute little quilt called Pink Lemonade. I kept seeing these little quilts on blogs, and finally couldn't take it any more and just had to make one! Well, it didn't take that long to piece it. Then I basted it last year so I could take it along on The Great Fart to start the hand quilting. Well, I did work on it a little bit, but put it away when I got home, because I had a bigger hand quilting project to finish. So, FINALLY, a year after everyone else, my Pink Lemonade is finished. You can see on Lori's blog that she hosted another SAL this year called Abundance - it is wonderful and last I saw, 45 bloggers had linked up - showing their version. I AM NOT going to break down and make it, even though the temptation is great!
I posted a new pattern on my website. These pin cushions were originally in Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting, January/February 2012 magazine. So if you missed that issue, you can now get the patterns from me.
Callie is busy as usual, tending to put a damper on my productivity!
I will leave you with that visual!
Have a great weekend!
So happy to hear you are getting so many orders! that is fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteLove your pink lemonade- some quilts just take more time then others. It's lovely!!
Callie?! What a hoot!
Happy Birthday Month!!
ReplyDeleteCongratualtions on your orders. Love your pink lemonade - sweet ;-)
Thanks for the visual - too fun.
Lol at Callie! Such a cute face peeking through your machine!
ReplyDeleteGerman Chocolate is my favorite, too! Haven't made one for several years. One year while the layers were cooling, the cat got up and nibbled on it. My Mom just cat a little bit away, and frosted it!! Cats! Love the pictures of your quilting assistant and her antics.
ReplyDeleteI missed German Chocolate Cake????? Love your sewing machine!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Julie - Your Pink Lemonade quilt turned out great - that's one of the SALs that I didn't do. Congrats on getting more attention for your wonderful quilt pendants - you're getting FAMOUS!
ReplyDeleteSo...when is your birthday?!? Love your little quilt! So cute...and so glad Callie didn't hit a pin on the way out! Good luck with those new orders! Congrats!!
ReplyDeleteIt's your birthday month? Why didn't I know that? Hope it has been a good one!
ReplyDeleteWhy do I suddenly have an urge to make cookies?
Good job on Pink Lemonade. If I had hand quilted mine it would have taken as long as you. I am hand quilting Abundance (that one you aren't doing--are you sure?) and I see so many others that were finished hand quilting days after finishing the piecing. I am just past the halfway mark. I admit I am doing echo quilting around the triangles, and that takes a little more time, but still!! I do like how it is looking. If you decide to make it after all I think you would really like it. But I don't want to influence you (ha ha).
Your cat is soooo funny!!
ReplyDeleteYour Pink Lemonade is very cute and bright! I also made that one, and Abundance this year. Lori is an inspiration to me.
ReplyDeleteYour Pink Lemonade is adorable! I remember that quilt along and even saved the pattern.
ReplyDeleteYour cat reminds of mine. LOL! She fits into the weirdest positions to get attention.
Happy Birthday, Julie! What yummy treats!! Love your pink lemonade and Callie is just too cute for words!
ReplyDeleteCheers!

ReplyDeleteCallie is a doll!! I have two Torties and they're such characters! Hope your Birthday was great - the treats certainly look yummy :) And, no pressure, but I'm making Lori's quilt too - Lol
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Birthday!!! I'm trying to resist SAL's this spring...cuz I still have several to finish from last year. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI can see why Kathy and Lynette love your quilt jewelry! They're a hit everywhere! So glad Jacque is carrying them now. Callie is such a ham. I wonder if your sewing room is her favorite room?
