THAT red fabric!

Remember when I had a plea out for one of my favorite red fabrics?  It was this one...
Well, it seems that no one has much of it, or if they do, they aren't willing to part with it (can't blame you there!).  But, a few days after Christmas, I had a little surprise in the mail!  My friend Janet O was a sneaky girl...and even though she didn't have any left in her stash, she searched for it online and found a piece on Etsy and bought it for me!  And along with that came some of her awesome handmade soaps!  They smell so good, I just don't want to use them up!
I'm so thankful to have a piece of that fabric, but I find that I am hoarding it!  I did use up a couple of little pieces, though.  Be arlowe the latest charm for our "Charming" bracelet program.  Look very, very closely and you will see, over on the left side - that's right - a little heart charm made with THAT red fabric.  Actually, there are two charms with THAT fabric.  One for Janet (cuz she's in the program!) and one for me!  This way we will both always have a piece of it.  I love how all the charms look when they are together in a big pile.  It didn't last long, though - they are all shipped out and I'm working on the next one.

Here are a few pendants I finished awhile back.  I think Primitive Gatherings bought all, or most, of them.  I need to make some more stars - since Lisa posted the star on her blog, I've sold quite a few.  I think some red ones would be good.  Hmmmm...should I use some of THAT fabric?  I don't know if I can let go of anymore of it.
And you will remember the video from the last time I posted - here is my little helper, Callie - still playing on that ugly chair! She's just so cute, you can't help but love the ornery little thing.

Oh, and Ozzie has decided that he is now a lap kitty.  I will have to get a picture of him.  Let me remind you that he weighs EIGHTEEN pounds.  I liked having my little EIGHT pound CC kitty on my lap, but he is kind of a big lug!  But it is nice to have the company - so I won't complain too much!

Have a great day!!

  2. Look at that passel of charms. Wow--that was a lot of work!
I am so thrilled with my heart charm made from THAT red! Thanks so much.
And I enjoyed the thrill of the hunt for the fabric. : )
You should make replicas of that chair and market them as cat gyms.

  3. Your pendants at blog header delight me; specifically the three in the top row to the right side of the row. The blue and green ones... Your cat cracks me up with her chair dancing... Has she delusions of being a lap dancer someday ?~!

Your two-tone blue pillow matches this one on my lap-gift from a Little I watched for a couple years; it's a great pillow for my needs and I use it regularly in my chair here and in bed. Do you like and use yours?

  4. also in the second pic: the cray quilt perdant and the crazy quilted star--they are magnificent too. Thank you for sharing the pictures. Do you sell the pieces online? I live in San Francisco Bay Area and never go to the Midwest except to bury siblings.

  7. I may have a little bit of that fabric laying around that I can send you. I think that I used it for the Farmer's Wife quilt. A couple other options you could try a couple quilt stores - Sew Elegant in Port Huron, Michigan (11,000 bolts of fabric) and The Door Mouse in Ohio (14,000 bolts of fabric). Maybe they have some laying around.

  15. Hi Julie - I have some of "that" fabric :) I would certainly share with you, if you'd like. Let me know if you are interested and I'll check to see how much I have - not yardage, for sure - but maybe some fat quarters. . .

    Smiles,
    Pam P

  16. Janet is a sweetie--and it sounds like she enjoyed the hunt. I don't blame you for being stingy with "that fabric." It's so dainty and lovely and a great red. I can get focused on one fabric now and then and just can't bring myself to have a rotary blade anywhere near it.
I see some new fabrics in the jewelry in your header. They Are Lovely!
I just opened my eyes and read the two previous posts more closely. You're on a roll, Julie.

  17. Yeah, Ozzie is pretty big for a lap cat but I bet he keeps you warm while his Sister keeps you entertained...That is when you are not making charms. I always love your selection and the basket of hearts looks very festive.

  19. Beautiful charms. You have such a talent! Love the chair too, and the kitty. I had an 18 pound lap cat too, and you need LOTS of lap for a cat that sized. Sorta like an 800 pound gorilla, they go where they want. Lovely work.

  20. It is a sweet fabric! Did have it at the shoppe and the bolt pretty much flew off the shelf! ;o) Just in case you might want more, you can check out Homestead Hearth - the ladies are the designer of the BOM that used that fabric. If you need more, let me know and I will get you the number of the bolt and you can call them. It worked for one of my customers. Cheers!
