I have a zillion things to share, but will start from where I left off from my last post.  I know you've probably seen our scissor hives before, but several months ago I was contacted by Quiltmaker magazine, asking if they could include them in an upcoming issue.  Of course, I said yes!

Here is the cover of the magazine - so be sure to pick up a copy - it should be in the stores soon (maybe it already is).

A year or so ago, my friend, Lois, sent me a scissor hive as a gift and I just loved it.  Come to find out, she buys the vintage spools and them makes them pretty, and adds the cute little scissors.  Well, I knew that I wanted to carry these.  Now she makes them exclusively for me!  So, if you don't already have one, you can get them on my website - www.meandmystitches.com.

Another thing that Lois does is waxers.  She makes the cutest wax things, and she also made our little bee molds that we use.  She recently sent me this one - isn't it awesome?  You can see her website info on the card - go check her out.  If you use any kind of trim - she's your girl.  She hand dyes all kinds of trim. Fun!  She also sent me the fabric under the bee - super fun little scrap bag!  I love getting scraps in the mail - and these are perfect for my jewelry.

I'm not sure if I've shown any of this quilt before.  It's a block of the month called Star Spangled Liberty, by Pam Buda.  I fell behind for awhile, but am caught up now.  We (Aunt Nancy and friend Nancy are doing this too) just received the final block.  I wish I could work on it, but it will have to wait.

.It has to wait because we have a show coming up - it's the Kansas City Regional Quilt Festival.  This show is held every other year, and this is just the second time they've had it.  I was quite impressed the first time - they really had all of the kinks worked out, and everything went really well.  Hopefully it will be the same this year.  If you are anywhere near the Kansas City area, be sure to come.  There are tons of vendors (way more than last time) and it will be a great time, for sure.  If you aren't close to KC - gather some friends and take a road trip!  You won't be sorry!

I have always wanted a hooked rug, and would love to learn how to hook, but there just aren't enough hours in the day.  Somehow I became friends on Facebook with Rhonda Thomas (I can't remember how we got connected), and one day she posted a bunch of hooked rugs for sale.  Well, I just couldn't help myself!  Look at these!  LOVE THEM!!!!!

Ok, I have got to get to work - that show is closing in on me, and we are not even close to being ready!  I've got more to share - I recently went to Quilt Market and have some pictures to share from that.  Next time!

Have a great day!

  2. The scissors hives are so cute! You are going to be swamped with orders!!
And that is a really cute wax bee.
The Liberty quilt is wonderful. I don't know how you have time to do anything besides your work. The jewelry seems so labor intensive to me!
Love the rugs! Nice that you could find some you loved without having to add a new skill to your arsenal. : )

    1. You're a "no reply" so I can't contact you directly - hope you see this! I have never seen just the pattern for sale - I've only seen it as a BOM.
I will not be in Houston - sorry! Would love to one of these years. We will plan to go back to Dallas in March 2018.
