Here are the fat quarters that I bought at The Woolen Needle (Williamsburg, IA) - aren't they pretty?
This is my quilt for Day 2 of the challenge (on Instagram) by my friend Nancy. I made this in 2004 - it's called Ancient Stars by Sue Garman. Isn't it a great pattern? Right up my alley - lots of little pieces. At the time, I really liked purple, and did not have a big stash, so I collected purple, green and tan fabrics for awhile before I could make this.
Hope you are having a great Monday!
Wow! That quilt is AMAZING! So intricate! Love your fat quarters...now those colors are screaming my name. Really? I didn't know your hubby was a beekeeper. How cool is that?! For some reason, I've always loved bee stuff.... Fun bee fabric! Hope your week is off to a good start! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
ReplyDeleteThat's the most gorgeous Mardi Gras Quilt I've ever seen. You might not have had that in mind when you made it, but for those of us from LA, I can't see it any other way. Laissez les bon temps rouler!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that bee fabric great? I have the red one and I am using it sparingly and with much joy. I'm not a fan of the cutesy bee's either. Love the realistic ones. Your quilt is lovely. Great job!
ReplyDeleteOh, luscious fabrics!
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous quilt, Julie. It looks like a ton of work with all of those pieces! Good job!
Can I read between the lines that you don't like purple so much anymore?
